Sadly, Adobe doesn't make it clear that extensions installed from their Adobe Add-ons site need to be uninstalled by going to your My Add-ons page and hitting the Remove button to the right. (After hitting this, you will probably need to close all your Adobe apps to give the Creative Cloud app the opportunity to uninstall the extension).
This should work fine if you installed one of our CC extensions. But if you have an older CS6 extension you might not be able to remove the extension the way listed above.
In that case, there is definitely a bug in Adobe's Adobe Addons installation process for CS6 addons. In the past we've seen people who have added the "TimeTracker - Free Trial" or "TimeTracker (CS6 only)" addons to their accounts and then have Adobe not provide the Remove button next to these CS6 extensions on their My Add-ons page and instead just an Install for CS6 link. And it's a problem in their servers so you can't resolve it without contacting them :(.
If you do have one of these CS6 extensions, after complaining to Adobe directly to ask them to manually delete "TimeTracker - Free Trial" (or anything else with TimeTracker in the name that has the Install for CS6 link next to it) from your My Add-ons list, here are a couple of things that might work:
- Go to turn off File Sync in the Creative Cloud Desktop app. This will prevent all addon installs and updates from happening on your computer. After you turn that off and then remove the extension with Extension Manager, you should not see it again. This is a lame solution though if you care about other addons' updates.
- Since you can't avoid reinstall: try going into Adobe Extension Manager and unchecking the extension to disable it in all apps it's installed into.
- Try downloading the Adobe Exchange extension and see if it also can be installed into whatever apps keep getting TimeTracker reinstalled. Once you login to it the extension's interface, under the extension's "My Addons" tab there may be a "Remove" or "Uninstall" button next to "TimeTracker - Free Trial" or "TimeTracker (CS6 only)".
